The Republic of Armenia Government Staff Ethnic Minorities and Religious Affairs Division coordinates policy in the sphere of ethnic minorities and religious affairs. Considering that the activities of ethnic and religious organizations is of great public interest, information on the aforementioned division and organizations will be provided under a separate chapter.

1. Ethnic Minorities and Religious Affairs Division activity areas:
(a) ethnic minority-related issues;
(b) questions relating to religion and freedom of belief.

2. The Ethnic Minorities and Religious Affairs Division:
(a) provides expertise of such draft legal acts or questions under its authority as may be submitted for consideration or approval of the Government or the Prime Minister, issues opinions on such draft legal acts as may have to do with the development of the sphere and efficiency improvement;

(b) provides expert findings based on the documents presented by religious organizations prior to their registration by the State Registry’s central authority in the manner established by law;

c) prepares informational materials and references about its activity areas, summarizes and analyzes information submitted by public agencies and local self-government authorities for Minister-Chief of Government Staff’s consideration;

(d) monitors such activities under its control as may relate to the Government’s annual action plan and priorities;

(e) drafts legal acts;

(f) coordinates update work for the National Minorities and Religious Affairs Department section of www.gov.am website.
